Andrew is a Commercial Litigation Partner with over 20 years experience of Commercial Litigation and dispute related work, having qualified in 1987.
Andrew spent the first eight years of his career after qualification with City firm, Stephenson Harwood, and then Hopkins & Wood, a specialist Commercial Litigation practice notable for a number of high profile cases during the early 1990's.
In 1995, Andrew moved to the Commercial Litigation Department of Taylor Walton and was made a Partner on 1 January 1996 and became Head of the Commercial Litigation Department on 1 July 1997.
Andrew has extensive experience of a number of types of Commercial Litigation disputes. Experience falls into the following categories:-
• Partnership and Shareholder disputes which often turn to "intra business" disputes;
• Commercial Contract matters;
• Intellectual Property to include details of passing off, design rights, trade mark infringement, breach of copyright;
• Property related disputes – often involving matters such as the ownership of land, restrictive covenants and applications to the Lands Tribunal.
Andrew's philosophy is very much one of a pragmatic and practical approach. His aim is to assess the client's position at the earliest opportunity, provide a frank and thorough analysis of the merits of a client's position and to provide detailed and realistic costs information. Based on that information, it is possible then for clients to make effective decisions for their businesses.
Andrew is also a keen supporter of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and, in particular, Mediation, having been involved in a number of successful Mediations in recent years.
Over the years Andrew has developed good links with a number of excellent and specialist sets of Barristers Chambers and is therefore well placed to select the most appropriate Counsel for any particular case.
